Bigster hybrid 155 combines a 109 hp⁵, 4-cylinder engine, a 49 hp⁵, electric motor, a 1.4 kWh (280 V) battery and an innovative clutchless multi-mode automatic gearbox.

 

Operation

The Bigster full hybrid powertrain, with its 155 hp and 205 Nm of maximum torque⁶ offers dynamic 100% electric starting and rapid acceleration. The battery is charged on the move with regenerative braking, which uses braking and deceleration energy recovery to achieve up to 80% of city driving time on all-electric power⁷.

The engine mild hybrid 140 combines a new-generation 3-cylinder 1.2L turbocharged gasoline engine based on the Miller cycle (optimised efficiency and fewer pumping losses) with a lightweight 48V hybrid system and a 6-speed manual gearbox.

 

How it works

The hybrid system backs up the combustion engine during start-up and acceleration, optimising driving pleasure and reducing average fuel consumption (5.71 L/100 km) and CO2 emissions (129 g/km) by around 10% compared with a combustion engine of equivalent power.

The 1.2 L turbocharged three-cylinder engine is supported by a 48 V hybrid system capable of driving in full electric mode.

 

How it works

The 4×4 system can be selected by the driver to remain permanently active for speeds up to 70 km/h off-road, or to engage only when needed in road modes at speeds of up to 140 km/h, ensuring both safety and optimised fuel consumption.
