THE VEHICLES MILD HYBRID

MILD HYBRID TECHNOLOGY

Mild hybrid is a technology that stores the kinetic energy produced when a vehicle brakes or decelerates. The energy accumulated is used to support the combustion engine during start-up and acceleration.

While this hybrid system is close to that of a full hybrid, it does not offer the option of 100% electric driving. However, it also makes driving much more enjoyable, and significantly reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

AN ADVANTAGEOUS POWERTRAIN

GREENER

A reduction in CO2 emissions of up to 10%* compared with an equivalent non-electric petrol vehicle.
*internal source based on WLTP‑approved combined‑cycle fuel consumption data.

LOWER FUEL CONSUMPTION

Up to 10%* reduction in WLTP combined cycle fuel consumption compared with an equivalent non-electric petrol vehicle.
*internal source based on WLTP‑approved combined‑cycle fuel consumption data.

ENHANCED PERFORMANCE

The starter-alternator gives the combustion engine extra power when the driver needs it, especially during acceleration.

EASE OF USE

No change of habits is required, as the battery charges automatically during braking or deceleration.

* According to WLTP protocol, may vary according to version and options.

Mild hybrid technology relies on a small electric motor, acting as a starter-alternator, and a 48 V battery.

During braking or deceleration, the battery acts as a generator, charging itself by recovering the kinetic energy produced.

With a belt connected between the two, the energy stored in the battery drives the internal combustion engine, providing additional power during the most energy-intensive driving phases, such as starting and acceleration.

MILD HYBRID AND PETROL

The mild hybrid petrol powertrain combines a conventional petrol engine with a 48V mild hybrid system.

The hybrid system supports the combustion engine during starting and acceleration. It cuts average fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by around 10% compared with a combustion engine of equivalent power.

MILD HYBRID-G

The mild hybrid-G powertrain from Dacia is the first to combine a bi-fuel petrol/ LPG engine with a lightweight 48V hybrid system.

This engine, like any LPG vehicle, runs on either petrol or LPG.The hybrid system also operates in a conventional way, assisting the engine during start-up and acceleration.
