Andros Trophy

Since 2010, Dacia has been competing in the action-packed “Trophée Andros” ice racing championship, in France, with phenomenal success. In the 2011 – 2012 season, the new Dacia Lodgy Glace – the world’s first ice-racing MPV – claimed the title at the hands of four-time Formula 1 World Champion, Alain Prost. Prost had previously guided the Dacia Duster “Ice” racecar to consecutive runner-up positions in 2010 and 2011.

Dacia’s Trophy Andros cars benefit from Renault Sport Technology’s renowned expertise and are equipped with a 3.0 litre V6 engine producing over 350bhp.

The Rallye Aicha des gazelles is an event where teams of women must reach checkpoints in the Sahara desert in Morocco.  The goal is not to finish the race as quickly as possible but the cover the shortest distance.  In 2012, Dusters took the top three positions in the crossover category.

In 2011, a modified version of the Dacia Duster competed in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.  Even though it was the debut attempt of this gruelling, unforgiving Colorado-based event for both the Dacia brand and the driver (Jean-Philippe Dayraut), the Dacia Duster claimed 3rd place overall in the unlimited class.  The Dacia Duster was equipped with a purpose built chassis and a 3.8 litre V6 engine, giving 850hp to a vehicle which weighed only 950kg.
